Doctors

We have been to several doctors since arriving home. Dr. Lee, our dentist, was the first. We were afraid that Dayana needed a root canal or something for her front tooth. But it turned out to be a baby tooth that has already been filled and she will pull it soon and a healthy new one will replace it. And as it turns out, Dayana has already had a root canal on a different baby tooth. They have been through so much in such short lives. She has at least four fillings from past cavities. Johan's teeth look great but he proved to have two cavities - we go back in May to fill them.

Both children were great for the dentist. Johan revealed his charming orneriness (he is shy around most new people but not Dr. Lee). On our first visit, Johan charmed Dr. Jeff into letting him wear his cool glasses. Within minutes of being in the dentist chair on his second visit, I heard a charming voice say, "Mida Mami" - Look Mami. I looked to see a gloved hand waving around the corner. He had charmed his way into a glove to wear.

Dr. Lee commented that he was an ornery one and I agreed. "You bring something out in Johan, Dr. Lee. He is normally very shy around new people but not here. Here he is brave and mischievous.

And he left with a couple of stickers for being good!
