Tis the night before school starts

and all through the house, not a child is stirring, nor is my spouse.
The pencils are all sharpened, we have crayons in excess.
The lunches are packed in a car and a princess.
The back packs are laying right next to the door
the supplies no longer scattered all over the floor.
New shoes lay out proudly
New shirts newly pressed
Dayana can hardly wait
to get up and get dressed.
For whatever we are missing we have no excuse
except to add that tonight Johan knocked out Dayana's front tooth.

Oh, the joys of parenthood!
Enjoy it now and love them dearly. The years will fly and they will be all grown up. I still love the aroma of new crayons. Love, Neena
